One Deep Breath-Containers

spiral bound pages~
receptacle of thoughts
inscribed on blue lines
daily ruminations
warmly embraced
under cardboard covers
Last summer I started a practice of writing “morning pages,” three free-written pages each day where my consciousness streams out onto the paper. These spiral notebooks contain those pages, all those messy morning thoughts safely tucked away between brightly colored paper covers.

  1. What a good choice for a container! You have such pretty handwriting, Becca.

I’ve just got The Artist’s Way from the library. I’ll be interested to read about the morning pages.

  2. love it, love it, love it! (i should say THEM)
wonderfully written and the photo really makes the haiku more personal 🙂

  3. I’ve been keeping journals for many years now. I don’t think that I could go without journaling…it has become a habit of sorts. My journals are filled with many things…thoughts, dreams, goals, wishes, heartache…and stories. I wonder, how many miles of ink I have used so that my heart can speak…

  4. Wonderful interpretation of containers …. loved seeing your notebooks! Wonderful poetry to match, Becca. Much peace, JP
